4th Grade Hebrew Reading (Optional)
This optional course introduces learners to foundational Hebrew decoding skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Through multisensory learning, games, music, and interactive practice, learners build familiarity with Hebrew letters and vowels while developing early decoding skills and confidence in Hebrew reading.
5th Grade Hebrew Reading (Required)
This required course strengthens learners’ Hebrew decoding and reading fluency through structured practice and interactive learning. Learners build confidence recognizing Hebrew letters, vowel symbols, and vocabulary, developing the foundational skills needed for reading prayers and participating in synagogue life. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, fluency, and fostering a positive connection to Hebrew language learning.
Judaic Studies Labs
Cooking Lab
Learners explore Jewish culture, holidays, and traditions through hands-on culinary experiences. Through preparing traditional and modern recipes connected to Shabbat, chagim, and Jewish communities around the world, learners deepen their understanding of Jewish values, history, and celebrations while building practice kitchen skills, teamwork, and creativity.
Creative Art Lab
Creative Art Lab invites learners to express Jewish ideas, stories, symbols, and values through a variety of artistic media. Inspired by Torah narratives, holidays, Hebrew language, and Jewish traditions, learners experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and collaborative projects while developing artistic confidence and self-expression.
Debate Lab
Learners strengthen critical thinking, communication, and respectful dialogue through structured debates and discussions rooted in Jewish texts, ethical questions, and contemporary issues. Drawing connections between Jewish values and modern life, learners will articulate ideas thoughtfully, listen actively, and engage with differing perspectives.
Digital Media Lab
Digital Media Lab combines creativity, storytelling, and technology as learners produce digital projects inspired by Jewish themes, holidays, values, and historical topics. Through video creation, graphic design, animation, and multimedia storytelling, learners build digital literacy skills while exploring how media can communicate Jewish identity and ideas.
Expressive Movement Lab
Through movement, dance, mindfulness, and creative expression, learners connect physically and emotionally to Jewish music, prayer, holidays, and stories. Expressive Movement Lab encourages confidence, collaboration, and self-awareness while helping learners experience Jewish learning in an active and engaging way.
Games & Strategy Lab
Learners develop problem-solving, collaboration, and strategic thinking through games connected to Jewish history, values, Hebrew language, and holiday themes. Whether through cooperative challenges, logic puzzles, or team-based activities, learners strengthen social and cognitive skills while engaging with Judaic content in playful and meaningful ways.
Music Exploration Lab
Music Exploration Lab introduces learners to Jewish music traditions from around the world while encouraging creativity through rhythm, singing, instruments, and movement. Learners explore how music connects to prayer, holidays, culture, and storytelling, gaining a deeper appreciation for Jewish expression across time and communities.
Nature & Environment Lab
Learners explore Jewish teachings about nature, stewardship, and caring for the world through hands-on environmental learning. Through gardening, outdoor exploration, seasonal activities, and discussions of Jewish values such as bal tashchit and tikkun olam, learners build a meaningful connection between Judaism and the natural world.
Photography Lab
Photography Lab encourages learners to view the world through a creative and thoughtful lens while exploring Jewish themes, traditions, and community life. Learners develop foundational photography skills, visual storytelling, and composition techniques as they document experiences and create projects connected to Jewish learning and identity.
Podcast & Media Lab
Learners become storytellers, interviewers, and content creators as they develop podcasts and media projects inspired by Jewish ideas, traditions, current events, and community experiences. The lab fosters communication, collaboration, and media literacy while giving learners opportunities to share their voices and perspectives creatively.
Science Lab
Science Lab encourages curiosity and discovery through hands-on experiments and investigations connected to the natural world and Jewish learning. Learners explore scientific concepts alongside Jewish ideas about creation, innovation, responsibility, and inquiry, building both scientific thinking and meaningful connections to Judaic Studies.
STEM Lab
Through engineering challenges, coding activities, design thinking, and collaborative problem-solving, STEM Lab helps learners connect innovation and creativity with Jewish values and learning. Learners are encouraged to think critically, experiment boldly, and consider how science and technology can contribute to improving the world.
Storytelling Lab
Learners explore the power of storytelling through Jewish texts, holiday traditions, folktales, and personal narratives. Through writing, speaking, dramatization, and creative expression, learners explore how stories preserve culture, communicate values, and strengthen community connections.
Theater & Improv Lab
Theater & Improv Lab brings Jewish stories, characters, holidays, and values to life through drama games, improvisation, role-play, and performance. Learners build confidence, collaboration, empathy, and communication skills while engaging creatively with Judaic content in a dynamic and supportive environment.
