Temple Beth Sholom stands with the communities affected by the devastating wildfires raging across Southern California. As we witness the destruction of homes, businesses, and the natural environment, we remember our responsibility to support and care for one another during these challenging times. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been displaced, injured or lost loved ones due to the fires.

As we read during the High Holy Days, “u’teshuva u’tefillah u’tzedaka ma’avirin es ro’a ha’gezeira,” which reminds us that while we cannot entirely avert the decree, we can make a significant impact through prayer, repair, and performing acts of kindness.

May we find strength in our connections, and may the healing power of our community bring hope and recovery to all those affected.
