Vanessa Ressler serves as Cantorial Soloist and Community Music Director at Temple Beth Sholom. A committed leader in the Jewish community, she is a past president of Temple Beth Sholom and Jewish Community Services of South Florida and currently serves on the North American Board of the Union for Reform Judaism. For more than 15 years, she has sung as part of a trio for High Holy Days and major services, and has regularly substituted as cantor, providing liturgical leadership with warmth and professionalism. She is the founding director of the Sholom Rockers Children’s Choir and brings musical theatre training and performance experience to everything she does.
Passionate about building community through song, theater, and shared celebration, Vanessa delights in creating opportunities for connection—whether leading congregational musicals, children’s ensembles, or welcoming newcomers.
Karen Pincus has been a dedicated presence in the South Florida Jewish community since 2007, uplifting each k’hillah k’doshah she has served through sacred song, prayer, and heartfelt leadership. From 2017 to 2021, she served as Cantorial Soloist-Educator at Temple Israel of Greater Miami, where she played a vital role in shaping future Jewish leaders through her B’nai Mitzvah and song leader programs.
Karen continued her service to Jewish youth at Temple Solel in Hollywood from 2022 to 2023, acting as Cantorial Soloist and B’nai Mitzvah Educator. A proud member of the Guild of Temple Musicians since 2009, Karen holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Florida International University, along with certificates in Judaic Studies and the Study of Spirituality.
From 2019 to 2023, she was a member of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Cantorial Cabinet and remains actively involved in its Mishkan Miami Refuat Ha-Nefesh program, supporting spiritual healing within the community.
Karen is currently continuing her Cantorial studies through the Cantors Assembly’s CICA program (Cantorial Intern of the Cantors Assembly), with the goal of becoming a fully accredited Cantor.
She has been happily married to her husband, Alan, since 1989. Together they are the proud parents of Adam, who lives in New York with his wife, Melissa, and their son, Noah; and Lauren, who lives and works in Chicago with her husband, Danny.
Born and raised at Temple Beth Sholom, Mason Duboff is our Songleader, Tot Shabbat specialist, and beloved worship leader for the youth community. With a deep passion for Judaism, music, and family engagement, Mason brings warmth, joy, and ruach to the bimah - creating meaningful Jewish experiences that help our TBS families feel connected through song, prayer, learning, and community. Whether leading Tot Shabbat, teaching music, or guiding families in worship experiences, Mason strives to create welcoming spaces where every child feels seen, celebrated, and inspired to participate in Jewish life.
Alan is our musical accompanist for Shabbat and holidays and a trusted collaborator and source of support for the cantor. He coordinates the professional choir on the High Holy Days, and guest musicians with the cantor, throughout the year.
