In jLAB, we believe that learning and relationships go together. We focus on an integrated approach to curriculum that emphasizes building strong ties between educators, learners, families, and the congregation. These relationships are essential to our Jewish lives and the values we hold.
All Temple Beth Sholom member families are welcome to participate in our program, which begins in kindergarten and continues through Confirmation (grade 10). Learners can join at any time, but we strongly encourage them to start in Kindergarten or as early as possible, as Jewish learning is a lifelong journey.
jLAB offers a holistic, experiential learning experience. Learners have opportunities to explore Judaism in ways that apply to all aspects of their lives, with guidance from educators who are more than just instructors – they are partners in learning.
We center our curriculum on building relationships, believing that new bonds will emerge between educators, learners, families, and congregants, strengthening the entire community.
We approach instruction as knowledgeable educators who partner with learners to facilitate ongoing learning.
We foster the integrated development of each learner’s intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, and creative potential.
We help learners use the relationships they form to maintain meaningful involvement in Jewish life.
Participation in jLAB grades K-10 is eligible to Temple Beth Sholom members in good standing. Before the commencement of the school year, it is our policy that you will have made your financial arrangements for your annual commitment, either having completed your dues payments or by having a scheduled payment plan in place with a valid credit card on file. All who wish to participate in jLAB will be given the opportunity regardless of their financial circumstances.
